India has witnessed a titanic surge in the number of women entering the economic wave. While this signals a positive change, it has not been without its fair share of challenges and struggles. It is the perseverance, tenacity and hard work of these women entrepreneurs which has helped them resolve those challenges and emerge as winners in their own right. To salute their self-belief and resilience and to help them seize opportunities in the male-dominated Indian corporate landscape, we, at SMBConnect, have conceptualised “Advaita- Women Entrepreneur Awards”.
A woman who ventures into the less trodden territory of entrepreneurship and achieves economic success is ‘Advaita’ or Unique and deserves to be recognised and commended for her passion, perseverance, resilience and strength.
Through Advaita awards, we aim to honour women entrepreneurs in recognition of their entrepreneurial skills and contribution to nation's growth. These awards will be organised in different states across the length and breadth of the country. The maiden Advaita- Women Entrepreneur Awards ceremony was organised on 25th October, 2018 in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
It is said that ‘women hold up half the sky” and through Advaita, we seek to create a world where empowered women hold up their share of the sky!
Advaita awards broadened my vision of what is possible for my business and gave me the confidence to take big leaps needed for business growth. My business has received a lot of press coverage and increased brand awareness across India as a result of winning the Advaita award for most innovative entrepreneur. The awards ceremony also gave me a great opportunity to network and learn from other distinguished women entrepreneurs. I am not resting on my laurels though, I’d keep working to win many more!Mita Kakkar
